And on November 2nd, Culture Day, we were able to celebrate my eldest daughter’s son’s
Shichi-Go-San (Seven-Five-Three) ceremony without any issues.
I had thought from the start, “I want him to wear a black montsuki (formal kimono),” and as I expected, it suited him perfectly. Call me a doting grandma, but even the photographer at Oi Photo
Studio said, “It really suits him,” which made me smile.
We rented the black montsuki from Oi Photo Studio. My daughter and I wore our own kimonos again this year, just like last year. My daughter’s tsukesage kimono was one I used to wear when I was
younger, and I wore my mother’s plain-colored kimono.
Just like my younger daughter last year, my eldest had her kimono professionally dressed, while I dressed myself. Even though I wore kimono last year, I had already forgotten how, so I practiced
almost every day for a month. Still, there are many things I’d like to improve—so I’m thinking I should keep wearing kimono from time to time next year too.
I sincerely hope that my grandchildren will continue to be blessed with happy days ahead, and I offer my heartfelt prayers with deep gratitude to everyone around us.

ばば馬鹿ですが大井写真館さんも"似合ってる"とおっしゃてくださりにんまり。黒紋付は大井さんでお借りし、娘と私は去年同様に手持ちの着物を着ました
娘の付け下げは私の若い頃のを
私は母の一つ刺繍紋付色無地を。去年の次女同様娘はプロの着付け師さんに、私は自分で着付けしました
去年着たのにもう着方を忘れてしまい1か月ほぼ毎日練習。
なのにまだまだ直したいところばかり。来年はまた時々着なきゃ
と思っています
どうか孫達にこれからも幸多い日々が続きますよう
